Summary:As a SAS Viya Platform Administrator who is comfortable working in AWS-cloud environments. The ideal candidate will install, configure, maintain and optimize a SAS Viya platform. Roles & Responsibilities:- - Install, configure, administer and support the SAS Viya platform (e.g., Viya 4.0) and/or SAS Grid solutions in production, QA and development environments. - Deploy SAS Viya in AWS cloud: provisioning EC2 instances, EFS/NFS/other storage, networking, security groups, IAM, high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR). - Collaborate with cloud/infrastructure teams to design and implement cloud architecture (AWS), including container or Kubernetes platforms if applicable (e.g., EKS, OpenShift). - Monitor platform performance, tune for optimal operation, manage resource usage and troubleshoot issues (metadata server, CAS server, mid-tier, compute nodes). - Administer SAS security: metadata security, authentication/authorisation (LDAP/Active Directory/SAML/SSO), user provisioning, roles and permissions. - Apply software patches, hotfixes, version upgrades for SAS software and underlying OS. Backup and recovery of SAS environments. - Automate repetitive administration tasks via scripting (shell, Python), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and integrate monitoring (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk). - Prepare and maintain documentation (runbooks, architecture diagrams, SOPs) for environment operations, upgrades and changes. - Serve as a subject-matter expert for SAS Platform operations, liaising with analytics teams, business users and SAS vendor support as needed.
