Receive used instruments and equipment from operating rooms and outpatient departments.
Pre-clean and disinfect instruments following safety guidelines.
Assembly & Packaging:
Inspect instruments for damage or wear and assemble instrument trays specific to ophthalmic procedures (e.g., cataract surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma treatment).
Package and label instrument sets accurately.
Sterilisation:
Operate and monitor sterilisation equipment (autoclaves, ETO sterilisers).
Ensure sterilization parameters are met (temperature, time, pressure).
Storage & Distribution:
Store sterile items properly to maintain sterility until use.
Distribute sterile supplies to operating theatres and outpatient departments as needed.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate sterilization records and logs.
Follow infection control protocols and hospital policies.
Participate in quality control checks and audits.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or Bsc in Sterile Processing or CSSD Technician Training.
Experience: 1-2 years in a CSSD role, preferably in an ophthalmic or surgical hospital setting.
Knowledge of: Ophthalmic surgical instruments, sterilisation techniques, infection control standards.
Skills: Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, good organisational skills, teamwork.
