CSSD Technician (Central Sterile Services Department)

Job Summary:

The CSSD Technician is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, assembly, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. This role ensures that all surgical and procedural equipment is safe, sterile, and available for use in operating rooms, wards, and other clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment using autoclaves, washers, and other sterilization tools. Inspect, assemble, and pack instrument sets and trays according to established protocols. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory. Monitor and verify proper functioning of sterilization equipment and report any issues. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of sterile supplies to maintain sterility. Adhere to infection control and hospital safety guidelines at all times. Assist in the distribution and retrieval of sterile and used instruments to and from clinical areas. Participate in training programs and keep up-to-date with best practices in sterilization techniques.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in CSSD / Sterile Processing (preferred or required based on hospital policy). 1-2 years of experience in a hospital CSSD or related setting (preferred). Basic knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures.

Skills Required:

Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols. Good communication and organizational skills. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and handle heavy trays. Ability to work as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?22,000.00 per month
