Role Summary
The
CSR Head
will serve as the strategic face of the Free Smile Foundation to the corporate world. The primary objective of this role is to
secure CSR funding
and foster long-term partnerships with companies mandated to spend on social development. You will translate our on-ground projects (such as youth internships, rural talent hunts, and health camps) into compelling proposals that align with the CSR goals of potential corporate donors.
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the foundation's annual financial targets through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) grants.
Pipeline Building:
Identify, research, and map potential corporate donors whose CSR policies align with Free Smile Foundation's thematic areas (Youth, Education, Health).
Pitching:
Lead the end-to-end grant process: from initial networking and concept notes to presenting high-impact proposals to CSR committees and Board members.
2. Corporate Partnership Management
Relationship Building:
Serve as the primary point of contact for existing corporate partners, ensuring their expectations are met and they feel connected to the impact.
Employee Engagement:
Design volunteering programs that allow corporate employees to engage with our projects (e.g., mentoring interns, attending rural events), strengthening the donor bond.
Retention:
Ensure high renewal rates of grants by maintaining transparent and regular communication.
3. Program Alignment & Reporting
Proposal Writing:
Collaborate with the program team to draft high-quality grant proposals, logical frameworks (LFA), and budget narratives.
Impact Reporting:
Oversee the creation of timely and accurate utilisation reports and impact assessments for donors, ensuring all CSR regulatory compliance (Section 135 mandates).
Visibility:
Work with the communications team to ensure donor visibility requirements (branding, social media mentions) are fulfilled.
4. Compliance & Governance
Ensure all partnerships adhere to statutory norms including
Form CSR-1
,
80G
,
12A
, and
FCRA
(if applicable).
Maintain due diligence dossiers to share with corporate auditors during the vetting process.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Revenue Generated:
Total value of CSR grants secured per quarter/year.
New Partnerships:
Number of new corporate MoUs signed.
Donor Retention:
% of existing donors renewing their support.
Pipeline Health:
Number of qualified leads and active proposals in the pipeline.
Qualifications & CompetenciesEducation
Masters in Social Work (MSW), MBA in Marketing/Sales, or a degree in Development Management/Public Policy.
Experience
7-10+ years
of experience in the social sector, with at least
3-4 years specifically in fundraising
or CSR management.
Proven track record of securing high-value grants (?50 Lakhs - ₹1 Cr+) from Indian or MNC corporates.
Existing network of CSR leads and decision-makers in India is highly desirable.
Skills
Sales & Persuasion:
Ability to "sell" a vision and convince stakeholders.
Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal English; ability to write compelling grant proposals.
Financial Acumen:
Ability to create and manage project budgets.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint/Excel) and CRM tools.
