They are what we believe, what customers expect, and how we deliver. The new Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit is seeking a Civil, Structural, Architectural Estimator at Gurgaon NCR office. M&T GBU targets sectors such as semiconductors, synthetic materials, data centers, products and facilities related to electric vehicle. This position will prepare, review and presents Civil, Structural, Architectural discipline estimates for specific project/proposal activities in Manufacturing & Technology business. Provides estimating assistance and guidance to projects, develops conceptual estimates, and performs cost analysis. Responsible for assisting in the development of discipline/service estimates, developing, and updating historical databases, and assisting in the development of department procedures. Supports estimate reporting and reviews.Executes simultaneous tasks within broadly defined parameters. JOB DIMENSIONS: A.Supervision Received Reports to and receives technical and operational supervision from designated supervisory personnel. During preparation of a project proposal, reports to the assigned Project Estimator on a day-to-day basis. B. Supervision Exercised Provides technical direction to assigned personnel when delegated. C.Contacts Maintains relationships with estimating and project personnel, particularly individual discipline sub-leaders. Provides routine or well-defined data, at supervisor's request, to external customers. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: The following duties are performed with respect to Estimate Execution, the process of conducting an evaluation of services and/or capital cost elements of a project or effort as defined by an agreed-upon scope that will be used to make key management decisions: 1.Prepares CSA discipline capital cost estimates. 2.Performs quantity takeoffs for a discipline or commodity specialty using defined documents.Collects, reconciles, and verifies data for summary comparisons. 3.Participates in establishing pricing structures to be applied to quantities for estimates.Ensures that estimate is in line with market trends and pricing. 4.Works with other disciplines and functions to collect all necessary data on scope and quantities to prepare an accurate estimate in specialty discipline areas. Performs analysis on functional input. 5.Prepares portions of estimates by contacting project team and others, including vendors, to develop and apply unit rates and installation rates to quantity takeoffs and to otherwise develop quantities/work operations within a discipline or other specialty. 6.Produces cost estimates using crew-based approach including formation of crews from multiple crafts. 7.Generates field indirect and distributable costs using detailed guidelines and/or standard templates. 8.Manages variations and changes to base estimate and ensures that implications of changes are evaluated before finalizing the solution. 9.Influences aspects of the specification in the interests of cost rationalization. 10.Provides input to estimate basis documentation capturing assumptions, rationale, scope inclusions and exclusions for specific contributions. 11.Supports reporting efforts and estimate summary presentations for estimate reviews. 12.Quantifies and spreads escalation based on project schedule and estimated costs. 13.Calculates project cash flows and the corresponding time value of money as the cost of working capital and generates payment schedules. The following duties are performed with respect to Foundation Development, the process of establishing and maintaining technical capabilities for personnel, cost databases and tools: 1.Researches, develops and maintains costs, quantities, ratios and metrics of the historical cost databases pertaining to specific section. Understands the data and various sources of data.Extracts non-standard data and formulates the data into comparative summary format for analysis. 2.Inputs cost data into the historical cost databases.Files completed estimates with all relevant back-up documentation yielding an easy-to-follow paper trail. 3.Supports the development of estimating standards and procedures. 4.Generates and retrieves reports in the appropriate software application, understands and summarizes the data in the required presentation for management reviews. 5.Researches and collects data on commercial terms and conditions from identified sources. The following duties are performed with respect to Project/Site Management Support, the process of providing support services to projects/sites in the form of external cost analysis and estimate reviews in addition to estimate-to-budget conversions: 1.Prepares cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis and cost and quantity comparisons. Innovates new techniques as required to meet specific needs. 2.Provides support for special estimating and other assignments, including post-Proposal support converting the estimate to a budget (budgeting, revenue loading, data entry and collection, etc.) JOB KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated intermediate understanding of Estimating core processes requiring minimal direction and supervision. Knowledge of EPC estimating practices, methods/processes, and procedures in addition to the various estimate components, types, and classifications. Basic knowledge of project controls concepts, practices, and procedures, specifically project schedules, work breakdown structure, and budgets. Experience in performing quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and report writing. Skill in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial records. Familiar with commercial terms and conditions (contractor relationships, currency exchange, taxation, inflation, insurance, escalation, etc.) and with market pricing in area of specialization. Basic knowledge of construction methods and construction practices. Excellent applied analytical and quantitative skills.Effective in utilizing metrics to provide reasonableness checks. Basic knowledge of financial report systems, Controller account codes and understanding of Controller Instructions that impact estimates. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Industry experience with 3+ years in Manufacturing & Technology CSA cost estimates. Knowledge in the use of technology for executing work processes. Proficiency in basic Microsoft software applications currently being used by Bechtel (Word, Excel, Access. PowerPoint). Proficiency in estimating applications used for discipline estimates. Ability to communicate effectively with others in a project team environment. Basic knowledge and experience with EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures including the full range estimate classifications levels. Experience in parametric estimating techniques. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in estimating techniques for capital cost development. EPC/EPCM experience on M&T projects. Estimating experience in semiconductors chip manufacturing clean room, data rooms, etc. Basic knowledge of the applicable Bechtel processes and systems.
