Job Profile: Critical Care Intensivist

Position Overview:



The Critical Care Intensivist is responsible for the overall management of patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves supervising patient care, leading the critical care team, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and providing high-quality, evidence-based treatment to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:



Patient Care & Clinical Management

Manage and monitor all patients admitted to the ICU. Conduct daily ICU rounds and review patient progress. Make decisions regarding admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensure timely intervention and appropriate treatment for critically ill patients.

Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise and guide resident doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. Coordinate with consultants from other departments for multidisciplinary care. Conduct clinical discussions, mortality meetings, and case reviews.

Protocol & Compliance

Ensure all ICU procedures follow hospital infection control and safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards and hospital policies.

Training & Development

Conduct regular training sessions for ICU staff on emergency care and new technologies. Mentor junior doctors and support staff in clinical and ethical practices.

Emergency Management

Respond promptly to all code blue (cardiac arrest) and emergency calls. Provide expert support for patient stabilization and transfer.

Qualification & Experience:



Education:

MD/DNB in Anesthesiology / Internal Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine / Critical Care Medicine

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ICU / Critical Care setup

Skills Required:

Strong decision-making and clinical judgment Excellent communication and leadership abilities Familiarity with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICU equipment

Work Schedule:



Full-time position with rotational on-call duties (as per hospital roster)

Reporting & Evaluation:



Reports to Clinical Administrator / Medical Director Performance evaluated based on patient outcomes, adherence to protocols, and teamwork
Job Types: Full-time, Freelance

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹130,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
