About CB Risk India: The Commercial Banking Risk India team is part of the Credit Risk function for Commercial Bank at J.P. Morgan. Commercial Banking Risk India works closely with the in-country Bankers and Credit Executives and provides them with in-depth credit risk analysis of clients as well as recommendations on risk grades. CB Risk India was set up in Nov 2016 and covers wholesale customers of the Commercial Bank in North America. Role: Analyst for conducting Corporate Credit Analysis including but not limited to financial, industry and business analysis. Additional analysis would include borrowing base and covenant monitoring along with ongoing collateral related analysis for Asset Backed Lending clients in North America - Commercial Banking Division. Location: Bangalore Job Responsibilities: Prepare credit risk analysis reports on assigned portfolio of clients (business & financial analysis and focusing on credit issues). Recommend rating grades based on analysis for the clients and facilities/exposures. Assume complete responsibility of credit asks by supporting the Credit Risk Managers in adjudging sound credit decisions. Work closely with Underwriters in North America and India on client activities such as prospects, new client onboarding, new facilities, modifications of existing facilities, projections modelling and portfolio management activities such as annual reviews, periodic financial performance diligence, etc., Independently prepare credit analysis on assigned clients - covering macro-overview, industry/sector analysis, business analysis, financial analysis - and recommend changes to credit ratings, Take the onus of always maintaining the most current information (Financials, Compliance documents, borrowing base etc.) on the assigned clients in conformity with the credit agreement. Borrowing Base Review - Periodic analysis of borrowing base as provided by the client, duly checking whether the calculations conform to JPM standards so as to identify any potential risks arising out of collateral shortfall. Closely identify any variances with the credit terms and actively take steps to correct them, Summarize Field exam results and provide Credit Risk Manager comments on the exam findings. Work with onshore to finalize Asset Backed Lending risk comments on the field exam. Actively engage the third party Inventory appraisers to arrive at liquidation values so as to mitigate the bank\'s risk. Summarize Inventory appraisal findings as part of the annual review process. Covenant tracking - Spread income statement, balance sheet and cash flow on a monthly/quarterly basis for the purpose of calculating various ratios like fixed charge coverage ratio, minimum liquidity availability figures, leverage ratio etc. and checking for compliance with agreed covenant ratios. Identify risks pertaining to collateral based on collateral type (AR, Inventory, Real Estate etc.) and engage appropriate teams to mitigate the same. Understanding credit agreements and being on top of latest amendments on portfolio clients. Think on the feet for any issues with clients in the portfolio and actively work with Credit Risk Manager in mitigating the bank\'s risk arising out of them. Also actively engage and support the Credit Risk managers to Work on amendments / transactions on existing clients. Contribute on adhoc portfolio analytics projects. Periodically provide data points on clients as required, Gain sufficient knowledge of nuances and specifics so as to be able to deliver work independently. Evolve in to a 2nd chair role on a portfolio of clients and work with CREDIT RISK MANAGERS in US to work on all activities on the client, Maintain proactive and positive attitude and exhibit rigor in work to produce near flawless credit drafts and modelling outputs., Build strong relationships and maintain open communication with colleagues from various Lines of Business including Underwriters, CREDIT RISK MANAGERSs, Bankers, Middle Office, etc., Develop understanding of various techniques and methods of credit analysis, accounting treatments, financial adjustments etc. Be open to learning and always open to contributing above and beyond the current responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills : - MBAs (with Finance specialization) / CAs Excellent academic record Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts 1 to 2 years of Credit related work experience would be a good value addition Credit approval and modelling experience would be a plus ((though not a must)) Strong analytical skills and keen attention-to-detail Deadline oriented, organized, and responsible Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Strong communication skills - oral and written Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Power Point
