Key Responsibilities
Deal Syndication & Placement
: Manage the end-to-end process of syndicating and placing foreign currency loans (e.g., External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs)) to offshore branches of Indian and foreign banks, Development Financial Institutions (DFIs), and other global lenders.
Client Advisory & Origination Support
: Collaborate with internal origination teams to provide actionable insights on current market appetite, pricing trends, and optimal syndication strategies. Advise clients on the best structure for their debt needs based on short-term and long-term risks and opportunities.
Lender Relationship Management
: Cultivate and expand a network of relationships with diverse global lenders. Monitor each lender's sectoral focus, pricing benchmarks, and credit approval requirements to facilitate successful deal placement.
Credit Analysis & Risk Assessment
: Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and due diligence on potential borrowers to determine creditworthiness and potential risk for lenders/investors. Structure deals that adhere to the bank's and regulators' risk appetites.
Documentation & Marketing Materials
: Prepare and circulate Information Memoranda (IMs), lender teasers, deal summaries, and other marketing materials to support syndication efforts. Manage all necessary legal and financial documentation for transactions.
Financial Modeling & Valuation
: Develop and utilize complex financial models to value debt and equity, perform scenario analysis, and inform deal structuring and pricing.
Compliance & Market Monitoring
: Ensure all transactions comply with international and local regulations (e.g., RBI, IBC regulations where applicable). Track developments in the global loan and ECB markets to provide timely market intelligence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
: A Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA, CA, or CFA designation highly preferred.
Experience
: Relevant experience in investment banking, debt syndication, leverage finance, or private credit, with specific experience in foreign currency loans and global markets preferred.
Technical Skills
: Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills are essential. Proficiency with financial databases like Bloomberg, FactSet, and advanced Excel is often required.

: Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, and problem-solving skills are critical for coordinating with global teams and clients. The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and work collaboratively in a team environment is also important.
