Job Summary



We are seeking a highly efficient and results-driven Credit Controller to join our Finance team at a leading logistics company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, and minimising credit risk while supporting business growth.

This role is critical in maintaining healthy cash flow, improving collection efficiency, and strengthening customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in credit management within a fast-paced logistics or service-driven environment.

Objectives of the Role



Establish and manage customer credit limits by assessing creditworthiness and risk exposure. Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to reduce overdue receivables. Manage accounts receivable to support the organisation's financial stability and profitability. Monitor credit exposure and proactively minimise bad debt risk. Support the collection of delinquent accounts using structured follow-up and negotiation strategies. Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring timely collections and compliance with credit terms. Conduct regular credit reviews and adjust credit limits based on payment history and financial standing. Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams on all credit-related matters.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee and manage daily credit control operations in line with company policies and procedures. Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through financial analysis, credit checks, and payment history reviews. Set and monitor customer credit limits based on risk assessments and maintain accurate credit documentation. Track customer accounts to ensure timely payments and promptly address delays, disputes, or discrepancies. Communicate with customers to negotiate payment terms, establish payment plans, and resolve billing issues. Implement effective strategies to minimise late payments and non-payment, including escalation and recovery actions when required. Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable, collections performance, aging analysis, and credit risk to management. Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit control, recommending process improvements where applicable. Deliver high-quality customer service while managing sensitive financial discussions professionally.

Required Qualifications & Skills



Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role, preferably within logistics, transportation, or service industries. Strong understanding of credit control principles, practices, and regulations in India. Familiarity with Indian banking systems, credit regulations, and customer segmentation. Proficiency in financial systems, credit management tools, and ERP platforms. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Indian accounting software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess financial risk accurately. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling and reporting. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills



Professional certifications such as CICM, CCP, or CCCM. Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks related to credit and collections. Experience handling international customers, multi-currency transactions, or global credit control. Demonstrated success in improving credit control processes and reducing bad debt exposure. Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven logistics environment. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. Multilingual communication skills are an added advantage.
