The Role


Position Description - Purpose: In this role, you will have the opportunity to maintain and develop master data required to procure materials and services consumed by various Shell Assets in different lines of businesses including upstream, downstream, and integrated gas assets. This position will primarily deal with data cleanse, data preparation and enrichment operation for Supply chain data (Materials Data) for various Shell assets as part of ERP system migration from current version of SAP to SAP S4/Hana. You will work with a diverse and multinational team across different functions such as C&P Operations, IT, Finance, Operations and maintenance, External SAP consultants etc. You will be a part of this "once in a generation opportunity" to overhaul the master data set up for SHELL Assets supply chain data to make the procurement and inventory management process more efficient with the end objective that right materials and services are available at the right time and at the lowest cost. Principal Accountabilities:
  • Execute data cleanse work and ensure operationalization of new data designs that can eliminate waste, transform towards SHELL Supply Chain future vision. Ensure disciplined daily execution of operational data processes across e2e CP to enable improvement and optimization of supply chains.
  • Partner with Project management teams, CP in the business, Suppliers, Ops and maintenance teams and other functional teams to ensure business requirements are met within target timelines
  • Demonstrate data centric mindset with the ability to explain to various stakeholders value of data quality and how data quality and analysis contributes to business bottom line.
  • Support Data cleanse project manager with project management activities such as developing execution plan, monitoring and reporting progress, risk management, stakeholder engagement etc.
  • Ensure that the scope for data cleanse is aligned and well understood by everyone.
  • Highlight key issues and delivery risks to the project manager on time.
  • Continuously communicate with all stakeholders at different levels to apprise them of progress and challenges and seek collaborative solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement, including root cause analysis, exceptions identification and ideas for improvement and play active leadership role in improvement projects
Special Challenges (Complexity):
  • Has capacity and curiosity to understand business requirements, how the 'business works', what data means to supply chains and actionable outcomes to enable step change towards "Data as an Asset" for whole of SC/CP.
  • Diverse virtual stakeholders across various functions and various locations.
  • Communicate effectively with partners who may not fully understand the Supply chain Data details, complexity, and value creation potential.
  • Work with scope that may constantly change or evolve. Change management as a skill would be required.
  • Work under tight timelines and with challenging stakeholders.
  • May work in different shifts to cater to the different time zones of the stakeholders including US time zones.
Key Experiences and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3 to 6 years' experience in manufacturing industry - preferably in Asset Maintenance or Project execution in oil and gas industry.
  • Skilled in creation and maintenance of Materials master data in any ERP system ( SAP experience preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply chain processes.
  • Experience with ERP system migration preferred.
  • Critical thinking and reasoning skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and able to interact and influence others
  • Effective team player
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities, work without close supervision to deliver result
  • Learners' mindset and ability to learn new skills and understand new systems in a short period of time.
  • Self-starter and ability to manage diverse cultural/ethnic sensitivities
Strong results and achievement orientation, moving with speed in a fast-paced macro business environment
