The Mission Cell at LCF constitutes the backbone of the programme intervention that is aimed at empowering India's youth through agency-building, upskilling, and access to sustainable livelihoods. Among other foci, the Mission Cell is responsible for both student-facing and staff-facing learning; including, assessing learning needs, designing learning experiences, developing learning material, monitoring programme implementation, and evaluating programme impact. At the Mission Cell, you will be working with a passionate team of mission-minded specialists, who innovate, design and implement youth-centric curricula that's iterative, rooted in love, and ushers sustainable community transformation.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The PURPOSE of the Course Manager's role within the Mission Cell is to hold space for and support the Lighthouse centres' Spoken English & Digital Empowerment trainers to deliver high quality courses to the youth we serve. The role is vital to providing the youth who enroll at the Lighthouse with a strong start on their sustainable livelihoods journey. The ideal candidate understands the transformational impact that a high quality digital skills and English communication course can have on underserved youth's lives, and is passionate about creating contextualized and nurturing environments that hone functional English and digital savviness.
Your role in supplementing organizational goals:
The RESPONSIBILITY of the Course Manager is to,
1. Ensure the quality of the Spoken English & Digital Empowerment courses (a part of LCF's Foundational Skilling Programme) that are offered to Lighthouse's youth, and
2. Provide end-to-end support and guidance to the Spoken English & Digital Empowerment trainers pan-India.
The TASKS for the Course Manager to carry out include:
? Trainer Hiring & Onboarding: Keep the hiring process updated and effective - Support the recruitment and onboarding of Spoken English and Digital Empowerment trainers
? Continuous Professional Development of Trainers: Identify each trainer's unique growth needs and offer continuous mentoring, coaching, and support to trainers through observation-debrief cycles, sharing best practices, facilitating communities of practice, etc.
? Training for Trainers: Design, develop, and deliver relevant and engaging training sessions for trainers - Document, assess and analyse the same to track and report effectiveness
? Data Hygiene | Batch-wise Outcomes: Monitor and ensure that data for youth attendance and youth assessments are accurately updated by trainers across all Lighthouse centres pan-India; further, support with data analysis to improve youth learning outcomes and trainer efficacy
? Communication & Documentation: Identify and maintain appropriate artefacts of impact and effective channels of communication to ensure periodic and clear dispersal of information regarding the impact of the programme for the benefit of various stakeholders
What a good fit for the role includes:
Prerequisite Knowledge and Demonstrable Skill Sets:
? Expert domain knowledge in 'English as a Foreign/ Second Language' and Digital Literacy, with proven ability to design and deliver engaging and effective sessions/ lessons (in any field), including documented session plans and learning assessments
? Keen observation (with effective documenting/ note-taking) skills, and the capacity to hold observation-debrief conversations with clarity, compassion and conviction
? Excellent interpersonal skills - Ability to listen to the issues/ challenges of trainers, critically analyse their needs and guide them towards solutions - Experience with leading training/ facilitation and providing coaching/ mentoring support.
Strong time management and calendaring skills with the commitment to adhere to schedules; familiarity with backwards planning and project management tools will add value
? Ability to understand, create and use rubrics and other assessment tools
? General comfort with the use of technology - Proficient in Google Workspace/ Microsoft 365
? Proven ability to critically think, problem solve, engage in simultaneous projects, and work with diverse populations in dynamic environments
? Must be self-aware and a "practitioner of inner work" in any form (Inner Work is at the core of LCF's mission; firm conviction in its potential will ensure a strong culture fit.)
Preferred Professional Background:
? Master's degree in Education/ English/ Social Work/ Development Studies/ related fields
? Prior initial experience working directly with young-adults/ children; followed by subsequent experience working in training/ coaching/ mentoring of trainers/ teachers and facilitation of trainer of trainers programmes - Work in programmes such as English Communication/ Digital Literacy Skills/ 21st Century Skills will add value
? At least 5 years of related work experience; or a portfolio/ evidence of proficiency in the skills required for this role
? Prior experience with Learning Management Systems/ Online Learning Portals will add value
? Prior experience of working with underserved communities will add value
