The Cost Center Executive is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and analyzing cost centers across the organization. The role ensures accurate cost allocation, effective budget control, detailed cost reporting, and supports management with actionable insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:1. Cost Center Creation & Maintenance
Create, define, and maintain cost centers for all departments including production, dyeing, printing, design, stores, utilities, and administration
Ensure correct mapping of expenses to appropriate cost centers
Update cost center structures as per operational or organizational changes
2. Expense Tracking & Allocation
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly expenses across all cost centers
Allocate direct, indirect, and overhead costs accurately
Ensure proper classification of fixed, variable, and semi-variable costs
3. Cost Analysis & Variance Reporting
Compare actual costs against budgeted and standard costs
Identify cost variances and analyze root causes
Prepare variance analysis reports with clear explanations and recommendations
4. Budgeting & Forecasting Support
Assist in preparation of department-wise and cost center-wise budgets
Track budget utilization and highlight deviations
Support cost forecasting and planning activities
5. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare detailed MIS reports on cost center performance
Submit weekly and monthly cost reports to management
Provide accurate cost data for pricing, quotation, and profitability analysis
6. Coordination with Departments
Coordinate with production, stores, HR, and accounts teams to collect and validate cost data
Verify data related to material consumption, wastage, labor hours, and machine utilization
Resolve discrepancies through effective cross-functional coordination
7. ERP / System Data Management
Ensure accurate and timely entry of cost-related data in ERP or accounting systems
Reconcile cost data with financial records
Support system enhancements related to costing and cost center reporting
8. Cost Control & Efficiency Improvement
Identify cost-saving opportunities and process inefficiencies
Monitor wastage, rework, idle time, and overhead absorption
Recommend and support the implementation of cost optimization measures
9. Audit & Compliance Support
Maintain proper documentation and records for cost centers
Assist internal and external auditors with cost-related data
Ensure compliance with company policies and standard costing procedures
10. Continuous Improvement & Management Support
Support management in strategic and operational decision-making
Participate in process reviews and improvement initiatives
Perform additional costing and analysis tasks assigned by management
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of costing and cost control principles
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting software
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and coordination skills
2-5 years of experience in costing or cost center management
Experience in manufacturing or the textile industry preferred
