Costing Engineer

Job Title: Costing EngineerDepartment: Engineering / CommercialReporting To: Plant Head / Engineering ManagerExperience: 2 - 6 YearsQualification: B.E / B.Tech / Diploma (Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering)Job Summary:

The Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate product cost estimates, analyzing material, labor, overhead costs, and supporting pricing decisions for new and existing products. The role works closely with engineering, production, purchase, and sales teams to ensure competitive and profitable costing.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare

detailed cost estimates

for new product development and RFQs. Analyze

raw material, tooling, machining, fabrication, press, welding, and finishing costs

. Calculate

labor, machine hour, overhead, and conversion costs

. Develop

BOM-wise costing

and process-wise cost breakups. Coordinate with

Purchase

for material price validation and vendor quotes. Work with

Production & Tooling teams

to optimize costs. Maintain

costing databases, templates, and Excel sheets

. Support

price negotiations

with customers and management. Perform

variance analysis

between estimated and actual costs. Identify

cost reduction opportunities

and process improvements. Ensure costing complies with

company policies and customer requirements

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

manufacturing processes

(press shop / machining / fabrication). Proficiency in

MS Excel

(costing models, formulas, dashboards). Understanding of

BOM, routing, and cycle time calculation

. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in

automotive / auto ancillary / sheet metal industries

. Knowledge of

ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / any ERP)

. Basic knowledge of

GST & costing compliance

.

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
