DMI is looking for a Cost Project Lead

Cost Project Lead for a product development team responsible for Autonomous Driving. This team defines, develops, and delivers the foundational software for features development. As the cost project delivery lead for this team, the qualified individual will be the enabler for the effective functioning of a software product development team using Agile Methodology.

Duties and
Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee the source, the quality and the consistency of data used for the calculation of the Forecasted
  • Build and update Risks and Opportunities portfolio and calculate
  • Define cost of resources, materials and capex, together with the Project team
  • Monitor project expenses (including comparison between actual expenditure and budget) and establish annual forecasts
  • Monitor other non-recurring costs (industrial investments, start-up costs, Vendor tooling, Supplier codesign cost…) and guarantee the source, the quality and the reliability of data used for this purpose
  • Assess the economic aspects linked to milestones passed / to be passed.
  • Contribute, during the project’s convergence step, to the definition of robust and global economic objectives: o Have quoted the product and industrial scenarios o Participate in the realization of economical studies conducted by VEMO, and analyse the associated data and results
  • Implement and drive the COP approach within the project (COP = Cost Optimization Process)
  • Build and update the economical optimization plan of the project
  • Provide the Project Director with financial objectives to be shared out between the different stakeholders and actors involved
  • Monitor the action plan built from the economical optimization plan of the project
  • In the frame of his/her project, make use of existing returns of experiences he/she has access to, especially towards the Costs standards
  • Formalize returns of experience at different stages of the project, in order to share lessons learnt and good practices applied on his/her project, but also to ring bells about difficulties eventually faced in particular domains
  • Pro-actively participate to meetings organized
  • Contribute to the creation of the portfolio of technical economies, studying the possibilities of antecedence and retrofit of modules embedded in launch projects
  • Lead and animate the affairs of their area of responsibility, participating in decision-making and ensuring economic assumptions and planning
  • Participate in the weekly ritual of the cost network in order to share the changes in operating mode and operational actions
  • Validate the base perimeter by conducting reviews with engineering to share the status of each part (impact on the construction of the forecast)
Qualifications:
Education and Years of Experience:

  • Required Skills/Certifications:
  • 5+ years of professional industry experience, with exposure to product development organizations, teams, operations
  • Strong knowledge of requirements gathering techniques
  • Experience in running Agile development projects
  • Experience with evaluating system estimates and relating the costs to the architecture components
  • Ability to interact with business partners and service providers at multiple levels
  • Ability to hold themselves and others accountable resolving issues and maintaining project timelines
  • Demonstrated leadership advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to guide the team towards effective solutions
  • Well organized, process oriented and focused on coaching team members towards process excellence
