Job Summery:
To prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for modular furniture projects by analyzing client requirements, materials and production processes, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency. With a strong focus on preparing accurate
Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
and
Bill of Materials (BOM)
. This role requires sound knowledge of construction materials, working drawings, and estimation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cost sheets, quotation records, and project-wise costing history.
Support management in preparing project budgets and profitability reports.
Coordinate with
design team
for drawings and specifications.
Work with
purchase department
to get updated material and vendor rates.
Prepare accurate and competitive quotations with detailed cost breakup.
Suggest alternative materials/finishes for cost optimization.
Prepare a
Bill of Materials (BOM)
for plywood/MDF/particle board, laminates, veneers, paints, edge banding, and fittings (hinges, channels, handles, etc.).
Study client requirements, architectural drawings, and modular layouts.
Maintain a database of costing, quotations, and project profitability.
Collaborate with
design team
for technical clarity.
Work with
purchase department
to update material costs.
Coordinate with
production team
to evaluate fabrication and installation costs.
Estimate costs for raw materials, labor, machine usage, installation, and logistics.
Prepare accurate quotations with complete cost breakdowns.
Suggest cost-effective alternatives to meet client budgets.
Prepare detailed
Bill of Materials (BOM)
for boards, laminates, veneers, edge banding, fittings, glass, and accessories.
Ensure material selection aligns with quality and budget.
Review client drawings, BOQ, and site measurements.
Understand design layouts, finishes, and specifications.
Prepare
BOQ (Bill of Quantities)
for architectural and interior projects based on drawings and specifications.
Support in site analysis, concept development, and design presentations.
Prepare layouts, plans, elevations, and sections for residential, commercial, or institutional projects.
Coordinate internal teams for smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong knowledge of
modular furniture raw materials & hardware
Familiar with
CNC, edge banding, post-forming, hot/cold press, etc.
processes
Proficiency in
MS Excel, AutoCAD (basic), ERP/Costing software
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical ability
Good understanding of design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
Strong visualization and presentation skills.
Excellent communication and team collaboration.
