Job Description

Education-:

Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA)

Experience-:

5-8 years of relevant experience in cost control, preferably in manufacturing/plant environment.

Prior exposure to plant operations and inventory management is desirable

Responsibilities-:

Cost Accounting & Control

Manage standard costing, overhead absorption, and cost allocations. Monitor BOMs (Bill of Materials), process costs, WIP, and finished goods valuation. Track and analyze direct & indirect costs for plant operations.

Variance Analysis

Perform monthly variance analysis (standard vs. actual costs, production yield, efficiency, material usage). Report and explain deviations to management with corrective actions.

Inventory & Consumption Monitoring

Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, consumables, WIP, and finished goods. Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of stocks. Support inventory valuation as per accounting standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparation of annual plant budgets and rolling forecasts. Track actual vs. budget costs and highlight deviations.

Controls & Compliance

Implement strong internal controls for material issuance, scrap, and wastage monitoring. Support internal/external audits related to plant costing and inventory.

Business Partnering

Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams. Provide cost insights to drive efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis. Exposure to manufacturing/plant accounting. Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics). Proficiency in MS Excel/Power BI for cost analytics. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with plant teams.
