Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Cost Accountant

to join our finance team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing cost records, preparing cost statements, and implementing cost control measures to improve efficiency and profitability in our steel manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and maintain cost sheets, product costing, and variance reports for steel production units. Monitor and control production costs, overheads, and inventory valuation. Conduct cost audits and ensure adherence to the

Companies (Cost Records and Audit) Rules, 2014

. Prepare

monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports

and assist management in decision-making. Analyze material consumption, labor efficiency, and machine utilization for cost optimization. Coordinate with production, procurement, and stores departments to capture accurate cost data. Implement and improve cost accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in

budget preparation

,

standard costing

, and

variance analysis

. Ensure compliance with

ICAI Cost Accounting Standards

and other statutory requirements. Support management with MIS reports, profitability analysis, and cost-benefit studies.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

B.Com / M.Com & CA / ICWA (Cost Accountant) qualified. ICWA (Cost Accountant) qualified must.

Experience:

1-4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in

steel or heavy manufacturing industry

.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of cost accounting systems and ERP (SAP / Tally ERP). Proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools. Understanding of cost audit requirements and Indian accounting standards.

Key Competencies

Analytical and detail-oriented. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. Sound understanding of manufacturing processes in the steel sector.

Salary Range:

?4,00,000 - ?6,00,000 per annum or based on qualifications and experience may be negotiation.
