Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Costing & Cost Control

Prepare and maintain product-wise cost sheets (standard and actual costing).

Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs and identify cost variances.

Monitor production costs and suggest cost-reduction initiatives.

Review BOM, routing, and consumption norms in coordination with production and engineering teams.

Budgeting & MIS

Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Track actual performance against budgets and analyze variances.

Prepare cost MIS reports for management review (monthly/quarterly).

Inventory & Production Accounting

Monitor inventory valuation (RM, WIP, FG) as per applicable accounting standards.

Coordinate with stores and production teams for stock verification and reconciliation.

Analyze slow-moving, obsolete, and non-moving inventory.

Financial & Compliance Support

Support month-end and year-end closing related to cost records.

Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards and statutory requirements.

Assist in cost audit, internal audit, and statutory audit by providing required data and explanations.

Cross-functional Coordination

Work closely with production, purchase, quality, and engineering departments for accurate cost data.

Support pricing decisions, quotations, and profitability analysis for new and existing products.

Qualifications & Experience

CMA (Inter) / CMA / ICWA or Qualified Cost Accountant (preferred).

Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounting (mandatory).

1-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing/engineering industry (preferably electrical/electronics).

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and variance analysis.

Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar).

Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
