Role Overview
The Cosmetic Research Executive is responsible for leading research and development activities related to cosmetic and personal care products. The role involves formulation development, ingredient evaluation, product testing, documentation, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, effective, and innovative products aligned with market needs and brand strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Product Research & Development
Develop and optimize formulations for cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and personal care products.
Evaluate new raw materials, active ingredients, and technologies.
Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing.
Maintain prototypes, lab records, test reports, and formulation documentation.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to support scale-up and pilot batch trials.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure formulations comply with national and international cosmetic regulations (such as BIS, FDA, ISO, EU/US guidelines where applicable).
Prepare technical dossiers, ingredient lists, MSDS, COA, PIF documentation etc.
Support internal and external audits and product safety assessments.
Testing & Validation
Design and coordinate product efficacy studies and consumer trials.
Work with third-party labs for microbiological, dermatological, and safety testing.
Analyze test results and recommend improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with marketing teams for claims validation and product positioning.
Support procurement in selecting suppliers and evaluating raw materials.
Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and production teams.
Innovation & Market Research
Monitor cosmetic industry trends, ingredients, and competitor products.
Identify opportunities for new product development or reformulations.
Contribute to innovation pipeline and R&D strategy.
