Job Summary:
We are seeking a competent and detail-focused
Core & CCA Engineer
to oversee the manufacturing and assembly of transformer cores and core-coil assemblies. The candidate will be responsible for supervising the lamination stacking, core building, coil placement, insulation work, and overall core-coil integration to ensure high product quality and compliance with design and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:Core Assembly:
Plan and supervise the stacking and assembly of CRGO/CRNGO laminations for transformer cores (step-lap or butt-lap types).
Ensure proper limb and yoke construction, clearances, and clamping according to design.
Check core losses, magnetic flux density, and insulation placements during core building.
Core-Coil Assembly (CCA):
Coordinate and supervise the placement of windings onto the core (core insertion or coil lowering).
Ensure accurate alignment, bracing, insulation, and connections per design and process documents.
Monitor tightening torques, clearances (axial and radial), and mechanical stability of the assembly.
Ensure proper tap changer mounting, lead routing, and shielding.
Coordinate with design, winding, tanking, and testing teams to resolve issues during assembly.
Ensure cleanliness, moisture control, and safe handling of insulation materials.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain detailed records of assembly parameters, measurements, and inspection results.
Ensure compliance with IS/IEC/ANSI and customer-specific standards.
Implement quality assurance measures, 5S, and safety protocols in the core & CCA area.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for CCA-related defects or failures.
Train and supervise assembly workers and technicians.
Suggest improvements for productivity, quality, and ergonomics.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
1-2 years
of hands-on experience in transformer core assembly and/or CCA operations.
Knowledge of core materials (CRGO/Amorphous), insulation schemes, and mechanical assembly.
Familiar with design documents, assembly drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
Understanding of transformer types (power, distribution, dry/oil-filled) and their internal structure.
Strong communication, team coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
