Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced
Indian Chinese Cook
with a minimum of
2 years of professional experience
in preparing authentic and fusion-style Indian Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, demonstrate expertise in wok cooking, and maintain consistency and quality in line with Flurys' standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a wide variety of
Indian Chinese dishes
(starters, gravies, noodles, fried rice, soups, etc.) according to standard recipes.
Ensure
taste, texture, portioning, and presentation
are consistent with brand quality.
Maintain
cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards
in the kitchen at all times.
Accurately measure, chop, marinate, and cook ingredients as per production requirements.
Operate and manage
woks, fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment
safely and efficiently.
Support the kitchen team in
menu planning, trials, and new dish development
.
Assist in maintaining
inventory and stock control
to minimize wastage.
Ensure timely preparation of orders, especially during
rush hours
.
Collaborate effectively with fellow cooks, stewards, and the kitchen team to maintain smooth operations.
Requirements
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a Cook/Commis specializing in Indian Chinese cuisine in a restaurant, hotel, or food production setup.
Strong knowledge of
wok cooking techniques, sauces, gravies, and Indo-Chinese flavors
.
Ability to work under pressure in a
fast-paced kitchen environment
.
Good understanding of
food hygiene, safety, and sanitation practices
.
Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational requirements.
Educational Qualification
Diploma/Degree in
Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or Food Production
preferred.
Candidates with strong hands-on skills and relevant experience may also be considered.
