Job Summary: The Commis Chef at The Hosteller assists the kitchen team in preparing and presenting high quality food items while maintaining hygiene, safety, and brand standards.
This role requires passion for cooking, strong teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Cooking Assist in basic food preparation, chopping, marination, and mi seen place. Follow recipes and guidelines set by senior chefs. Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
Kitchen Operations Support the daily functioning of the kitchen. Ensure all cooking stations are clean, stocked, and ready. Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies. Quality & Hygiene Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Follow FSSAI and brand guidelines strictly. Keep utensils, equipment, and workstations sanitized. Team Collaboration Work closely with the CDP, DCDP, and Head Chef. Support team members during rush hours and ensure smooth service. Learn and adapt to new dishes and techniques. Inventory & Waste Management Monitor ingredient levels and report shortages. Minimize food wastage and follow portion control.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen role. Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
Understanding of hygiene and safety standards. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment. Team player with good communication skills. Passion for cooking and willingness to learn. Flexible to work in shifts and relocate if required.
