About Devodhya Foundation

Devodhya Foundation is a registered public charitable trust committed to social development in rural Bihar, focusing on education, livelihood, health, and community welfare. As part of its operations, the Foundation also manages staff for the Mehath residence, which acts as a community center and operational hub.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to manage the kitchen at Mehath. The role will involve preparing nutritious meals for the household and guests, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene, and supporting Devodhya Foundation's values of health, discipline, and community care.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation & Cooking

Prepare daily meals for the household members, guests, and visitors as required.

Plan and cook vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes according to preferences and seasonal availability.

Ensure meals are balanced, nutritious, and prepared in a hygienic manner.

Kitchen Management

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.

Ensure proper storage of ingredients and monitor stock levels.

Support in purchasing or coordinating procurement of groceries and supplies.

Support for Foundation Activities

Assist during small community events, guest visits, or foundation programs at the Mehath residence (tea, snacks, meals as required).

Work with other household or foundation staff (office boy, caretaker, plant care workers, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience as a cook in a household, NGO, institution, or hotel preferred.

Ability to cook traditional Maithili/Bihari dishes as well as general North/South Indian meals.

Basic knowledge of hygiene, nutrition, and kitchen safety.

Honest, disciplined, and respectful attitude.

Flexibility to adjust working hours during special events or guest visits.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: As per Devodhya Foundation's internal standards and market rate.

Accommodation/Meals: Can be provided at Mehath if required.
