Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cook to manage the kitchen operations of our company's guest house. The ideal candidate should be capable of preparing a variety of nutritious, hygienic, and tasty meals for employees, guests, and company visitors, while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and portion sizes.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the chef or kitchen manager to contribute to menu development, including suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials.
Quality Control: Ensure that all food products meet company and regulatory standards for taste, appearance, and freshness.
Kitchen Operations: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
Food Safety: Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
Inventory Management: Monitor and report inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste.
Adherence to Recipes: Precisely follow recipes and cooking techniques to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation.
Collaboration: Work as part of a culinary team, communicating effectively with colleagues, servers, and management.
Customer Service: Ensure that dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards, meeting customer expectations for taste and visual appeal.
Adaptability: Be flexible in accommodating special dietary requests or modifications to menu items.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or food service setting.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Culinary degree or certification (preferred but not required).
Working Conditions:
This role may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be necessary in a restaurant setting.
