The Convention Center Manager oversees the daily operations, event coordination, and business development activities of a convention or event center. This role ensures that all meetings, conventions, trade shows, and special events are executed efficiently, safely, and profitably while maintaining exceptional guest and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of the convention center, including event setup, facility maintenance, and guest services.
Work closely with clients, event planners, and vendors to plan and deliver successful events.
Review contracts, floor plans, and event specifications to ensure compliance and feasibility.
Supervise event setup and teardown; troubleshoot issues in real-time during events.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors, clients, and service providers.
Promote the convention center to attract new business, conventions, trade shows, and community events.
Build and maintain relationships with tourism boards, local businesses, and event organizers.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in event management, hospitality, or facility operations, preferably in a large venue or convention center setting.
Proven track record of managing high-profile events and leading cross-functional teams.
