We are seeking an experienced Control System Development - Team Lead to oversee the design, development, and delivery of advanced controls software for PLC and other real-time controller platforms. In this role, you will guide a team of controls software engineers while collaborating closely with product management, application engineering, mechatronics R&D, and customer service teams. The ideal candidate excels in technical leadership, system design, and delivering high-quality, well-documented software solutions.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development of controls software according to defined project plans and milestone timelines.
• Co-develop iterative releases of control software products in alignment with product owners and technical stakeholders.
• Oversee complex design, maintenance, testing, enhancement, and support tasks across multiple projects.
• Review physical layouts to design and refine control system architectures.
• Ensure delivery of clear, structured, and fully documented software aligned with best practices.
• Develop tools that streamline testing, deployment, and validation of controls software.
• Stabilize and upgrade existing systems for improved performance and reliability.
• Lead module, subsystem, and system testing; support commissioning activities when required.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and functional descriptions.
• Provide accurate development estimates and validate technical specifications.
• Present complex technical insights, findings, and design decisions to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Contribute to developing and maintaining organizational software standards.
• Train and mentor product champions and team members for efficient software deployment.

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

• Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience, ideally within material handling or intralogistics systems (conveyors, stacker cranes, pallet systems).
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
• Strong understanding of industrial communication networks (Profinet, Profibus, ASi).
• Experience with high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Visual Basic, or Java.
• Knowledge of automated scripting and testing frameworks (preferred).
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies (preferred).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA tools such as Iconics, Wonderware, RSView, WinCC, or Citect (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or E&TC Engineering.
• Strong leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring or leading teams.
