We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal and Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal and regulatory compliance, with experience in the US market. The role will involve ensuring that our company operates within the bounds of applicable laws and regulations, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate risk and promote ethical conduct.
Responsibilities:
Research and stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the company's operations in the US market.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess compliance risks and develop strategies to address them.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Monitor and audit company activities to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees.
Investigate complaints or allegations of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Assist with regulatory filings and submissions as required.
Provide legal advice and guidance to internal teams on a wide range of legal and compliance matters.
Support the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in legal and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or related field; JD or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal and compliance
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with compliance management systems and tools is a plus.
Certification in compliance or related field (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is desirable but not required.
