Key responsibilities
Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts, and manage their close-out, extension, or renewal.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure contracts meet legal requirements and organizational goals, monitor performance, and mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for all parties involved, coordinating with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are met.
Project Oversight: Develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to contract specifications for civil works like roads, bridges, and water systems.
Financial and Performance Monitoring: Track project costs, ensure effective cost management, and prepare reports on contract performance.
Dispute Resolution: Handle and resolve contract-related issues and disputes, promoting harmonious negotiations between parties.
Required skills and qualifications
Education: A higher professional or university degree in civil engineering, construction, or a related field is often preferred.
Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with legal principles and contract law is essential.
Technical Skills: A background in civil engineering, construction, and knowledge of specific contract management standards (e.g., UAV, RAW) is highly beneficial.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are critical for coordinating with various stakeholders.
