Key Responsibilities:




L2 Support:




Provide technical support for AS400 systems, resolving incidents and service requests within defined SLAs. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and escalate complex problems to L3 when necessary. Monitor system performance, job queues, and batch processes to ensure smooth operations. Execute routine maintenance tasks including backups, restores, and system health checks. Collaborate with application teams to troubleshoot and resolve application-level issues. Maintain documentation for known errors, resolutions, and standard operating procedures. Support change management activities including deployment validations and rollback planning.

L3 Support:




Perform advanced debugging, code analysis, and performance tuning of RPG, CL, and COBOL programs. Design and implement system enhancements, patches, and upgrades in coordination with infrastructure teams. Conduct impact analysis and provide technical inputs for new project implementations and migrations. Mentor L1/L2 support teams and conduct knowledge transfer sessions. Ensure compliance with ITIL processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

System Administration:




Perform OS installations, upgrades, and apply Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs). Manage Hardware Management Console (HMC) operations for system configuration and monitoring. Administer EMC Data Domain storage systems and handle virtual tape setup and allocations. Schedule and manage batch jobs, ensuring timely execution and resource optimization. Create and configure subsystems based on client-specific requirements. Develop and modify basic CL programs to support operational needs. Conduct regular system health checks and resolve technical issues proactively. Monitor and optimize system performance (CPU, memory, disk). Oversee capacity planning and resource allocation for AS400 LPARs. Execute backup and restoration procedures and participate in disaster recovery (DR) drills. Coordinate with OEM vendors (IBM, third-party) for hardware/software support. Manage user profiles, access controls, and system security configurations. Provide on-call support for critical incidents and ensure high system availability.
