Responsibilities:
Support the Baker Tilly U.S. legal department by drafting and reviewing contracts such as engagement agreements, nondisclosure agreements, business associate agreements, data processing agreements, and requests for proposals (RFPs)
Manage RFP and contractual deadlines by establishing project priorities
Support legal compliance initiatives and develop/improve contract review processes
Support U.S. Legal and India teams as needed on projects concerning firm policies, procedures, and risk management
Identify legal risk issues and propose a plan to mitigate and prevent routine legal risks
Serve as a legal resource for special projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Law degree required (LLB)
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, with an emphasis on contract drafting. Understanding of accounting principles or prior experience working in a global service center of a US-based accounting firm a plus
Knowledge of US law
Highly developed writing, editing and drafting skills that apply across all areas of contract focus
Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
Experience effectively working with department leadership to execute a task. Ability to collaborate with others and influence when necessary
Strong written and verbal communication skills when communicating at all levels within team and across the firm
Ability to work in a cross-cultural teams environment. Experience working in a global service center (legal support) strongly preferred
