Job Title - Platform Administrator

Reporting Relationship: Senior Technical Specialist
Job location: Bengaluru
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor Linux-based systems ensuring platform stability, performance, and availability.
• Support Big Data and analytics environments (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) through routine maintenance, service restarts, and log analysis.
• Perform regular health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance tuning of platform components.
• Collaborate with security teams for certificate renewals, firewall whitelisting, and compliance updates.
• Assist in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and prepare post-incident reports.
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation, SOPs, and configuration details.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support deployments, upgrades, and integrations across the platform.
• Ensure data security and user access governance across all environments (Dev, UAT, Prod).

Education and Certifications:

• Mandatory - Bachelor's degree (B.Tech /B.E.)

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Proficient in basic and advanced Linux commands for system operations and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash) for automating routine administrative tasks.
• Experience managing file systems, permissions, and process monitoring.
• Understanding of DNS, ports, firewall rules, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
• Awareness of SSL/TLS certificates and their role in securing communication between services.
• Ability to coordinate with network/security teams for whitelisting and certificate updates.
• Exposure writing Shell or Python scripts for operational automation, health checks, and report generation.
• Understanding of scheduled jobs using cron or workflow tools (e.g., Airflow).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and system issue resolution.
• Ability to document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain platform runbooks.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (infra, network, data engineering).
