Job Summary:

The Continental Commis I is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality continental dishes while maintaining hygiene and kitchen standards. The role requires passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to support smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook continental dishes as per hotel standards and Chef's instructions.
Ensure all mise en place is completed prior to service time.
Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, preparation, and presentation.
Monitor portion and waste control to maintain food cost.
Assist the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and menu planning.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Support and guide junior staff when required.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas according to HACCP and hotel standards.
Participate actively in training sessions and team meetings for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience as Commis I or II in a reputed hotel or restaurant.
Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality food production.
Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
