Position: URGENT: Continental Chefs wanted, CDP, Sous, Head chef Our client is looking for a continental chef for various restaurants As a continental chef you will mainly be responsible for the preparation of meals in a restaurant or hotel as the case may be. You will be involved in preparing, seasoning, and decorating meals and dishes in ways that suit the requirements or ed by customers. As the chef, you will also monitor and/or supervise the preparation and administration of meals from the kitchen by other staff members. You would also be specialised in the preparation of specific meals like salads, desserts, and pastries. In some settings, the chef creates the menu; he/she also makes adjustments to the menu based on the availability of food on. Chefs perform various functions in restaurants and hotels that ensure meals are prepared and presented to customers satisfactorily. Requirements Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge for Chef Role To be hired for the role of a chef in most restaurants and hotels, the following are major requirements and qualifications commonly set by employers that you may have to satisfy: Good and effective communication skills so as to be able to pass ideas across to kitchen staff and also understand what exactly customers want Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team Good organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment A respectable knowledge of food handling and environmental sanitation standards A Bachelors degree in Culinary Arts Any other form of certification in catering would be of added advantage At least 3 years of work experience as a chef in any good and reputable restaurant.
