The Continental Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting continental cuisine items such as pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, starters, and main courses while maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, cost control, and timely service.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare continental dishes including pizzas, pastas, lasagna, starters, sides, and salads as per standard recipes.
Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
Follow recipe cards and BOM to control food cost and minimize wastage.
Handle kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and saute stations.
Quality Control
Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards before service.
Conduct regular checks on raw materials and prepared food.
Follow FIFO (First In First Out) method for ingredient usage.
Hygiene & Food Safety
Maintain high standards of cleanliness as per FSSAI and company SOPs.
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and labeling practices.
Follow personal hygiene and grooming standards at all times.
Inventory & Cost Control
Assist in daily stock checks and raw material consumption tracking.
Minimize food wastage and report shortages or spoilage.
Coordinate with the kitchen manager for timely requisitions.
Operations & Teamwork
Ensure timely preparation of orders during peak hours.
Coordinate with service staff for smooth kitchen operations.
Train and guide commis chefs and helpers when require
