Key job responsibilities

  • Understand Amazon Sustainability/SR approach, goals; and help determine and develop an appropriate engagement strategy that includes content development, training and communication for South Asia region
  • Execute collaborative and engaging content, training and communication to keep internal partners and external stakeholders inspired and engaged in SR programs as well as up to date on key initiatives and priorities in the region
  • Feed into the Content, Training and Communications strategies across SR and also support distilling of global policies and regulations down to regional context
  • Proactively work with cross functional internal teams (e.g. Public Policy, Legal, Content & Training, Sourcing, etc.) to align on SR engagement opportunities in the region
  • Provide leadership in conducting training needs assessments; designing appropriate curriculum and learning materials; and help deliver training and capacity building interventions to suppliers aimed at addressing root causes of SR non-compliances
  • Support collection of data and analysis, and deep dives to understand customer usage, engagement, and retention/utilization
  • Work across laterally with other C&T regional leads, and C&T central to help develop clear protocol for supplier engagement and build capacity of regional SR team members on standardized approaches on the same
  • Keep abreast with industry-wide responsible sourcing issues and best practices
A day in the life
The Content & Training Manager, Social Responsibility, will help develop and execute SR strategy in South Asia region to keep SR, other internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g. suppliers) engaged and updated about our responsible sourcing program. S/he will develop processes that help drive effective engagement with our suppliers, collect insightful case studies and help advance our global responsible sourcing program and human rights strategies. S/he will work collaboratively with the other C&T team members (in a hub and spoke method) to build cohesive strategies across Supplier Engagement and SR to support content, training and communications both internally and externally.

Our Sustainability/Social Responsibility team partners with internal businesses, suppliers, and service providers on a continuous improvement model, researching and identifying risks in places where we source and operate, and designing solutions to help understand and mitigate those risks. We uphold enterprise standards and expectations (e.g. Amazon Supply Chain Standards) and seek to constantly improve the tools and processes that we use in doing so.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree preferably in Journalism, Social Work, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in training, communications or related field, preferably in large, complex organization(s)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and influencing multiple stakeholder groups - both internal and external
  • Ability to work with and lead complex, global, cross-functional teams
  • Experience assessing learning effectiveness to develop solutions that positively impact performance
  • Experience using Adobe programs such as Illustrator, InDesign etc.
  • Strong business acumen, creative mindset and strategic thinker
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience and/or familiarity with ethical and responsible sourcing, sustainability, supply chain development
  • Experience working in a similar role in a multi-cultural environment where trainings are produced in multiple languages.
  • Experience leveraging technology
  • Experience leading through change/influence
  • Prior B2B and B2C experience.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Communicating successfully across cultures, in writing and in person
  • Hybrid professional - experience of working with non-profits as well as companies
  • Experience in developing and driving collaborative relationships with cross functional teams (HR, Compliance, Legal, PR, Sourcing/Procurement, Merchandising, Quality, etc.
