Design and deliver training programs for new and existing content moderators, covering platform policies, community guidelines, content violation types (e.g., hate speech, violence, misinformation, explicit material), and moderation tools.- Conduct hands-on sessions, simulations, role-playing exercises, and real-world scenario training to teach objective decision-making and emotional compartmentalization when exposed to disturbing content.- Update training materials based on evolving policies, emerging trends in online harms, regulatory changes (e.g., DSA, GDPR), and feedback from moderation operations.- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and quality assurance (QA) calibration sessions to maintain high accuracy in moderation decisions.- Teach coping strategies and wellness practices to help moderators manage the psychological impact of reviewing sensitive content.- Collaborate with policy teams, operations managers, and (in AI-focused roles) data teams to incorporate AI-assisted moderation tools and improve automated systems through human feedback.- Monitor trainee progress, certify new moderators, and identify areas for process improvement.- In some roles, contribute to training AI models by guiding labeling/tagging exercises or escalating nuanced cases.
Required Skills and Qualifications-
2-5+ years of hands-on experience as a content moderator, preferably in high-volume environments (social media, gaming, or AI content safety).- Strong knowledge of online content policies, internet culture, and common harms (e.g., harassment, deepfakes, coded language).
Excellent communication and presentation skills for facilitating group training and providing clear feedback.- Emotional resilience and empathy to train others on handling graphic or traumatic content.
Analytical skills to assess moderation quality and identify training gaps.
Familiarity with moderation tools, AI systems, or content management platforms is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in communications, education, psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
Multilingual abilities advantageous for global teams.
