Role Overview

Are you the Google of your friends group? Do people snub ChatGPT and come to you instead to understand the latest news and trends? Do your friends and family think you have a problem because you only converse in memes, stickers and snappy captions? Well then, we've got a job for you.

We're looking for a Content Intern who'll be responsible for researching, writing, and helping produce daily news content tailored for social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube Shorts. You'll work closely with the design team to create informative, engaging posts that cut through the noise.

Responsibilities

- Monitor current affairs and identify trending topics across politics, economy, world affairs, science, tech, pop culture, and more

- Write short, informative, and engaging copy for news posts, reels, carousels, and stories

- Assist in preparing scripts for video explainers and social-first news formats

- Help build and maintain a content calendar based on daily and weekly news cycles

- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and neutrality in all content

- Collaborate with the design team to match visuals with content

- Contribute to ideation for new content formats or series

- Have fun while doing it all

Requirements

- Strong interest in news, journalism, current affairs, and storytelling

- Passion for pop culture, memes and trends

- Excellent writing and research skills

- Ability to simplify complex information into digestible content

- Familiarity with Instagram, Twitter/X, and emerging content platforms/trends

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Basic knowledge of Canva, Google Docs, or social media scheduling tools is a plus

- Top tier WhatsApp sticker collection (just kidding, or maybe not)

Journalism students or recent grads are encouraged to apply, but all news geeks are welcome.
