You will be part of a team that partners with Product Managers and authors to deliver the highest quality content solutions for products that drive Pearson\'s license to win in the market. The Content Developer is responsible for acquiring, supporting and guiding authors during the writing and development of content. The aim of the role is to bring leading edge content and teaching models to Pearson, developing a content strategy and informing products to drive better learning experiences and outcomes. Working across both print and digital products, largely focused on our accounting and finance titles, the Content Developer will research, communicate and put into practice current pedagogical methodology and uphold Pearson\'s commitment to the Global Content Editorial Policy. Product Management holds commercial accountability for product strategy and roadmap, Content Development is responsible for developing thought leaders and market shapers\' ideas into the content that fuels our products. Both are partners with the goal to deliver a product portfolio that meets market expectations for their assigned segment and drives revenue for Pearson. This role reports to the Senior Content Developer UK HE. Cross team collaboration and continuous reconfiguration of resourcing with flexible, adaptive structures organised around opportunity are critical requirements for this role. Key Responsibilities Support delivery of the UK Higher Education content strategy, leading the content acquisition, development and curation to support the delivery of value propositions that capitalise on market and customer opportunities and meet learner needs and outcomes. Help in the realisation of innovative content and content solutions that meet the requirements agreed with product managers across the UK Higher Education segment. Help to ensure that our course content is best-of-class in scholarship, pedagogy, curriculum and course alignment, level and also accessibility, diversity and inclusion and driven by insights that are both global and local. Be informed and up to date on content and teaching model direction in the assigned discipline areas. Scout new content providers / content solutions that can align with product strategy and roadmap goals. Support the development and management of relationships with leading edge/critical content providers and other partners. Build effective author relationships, to extract high quality content that is delivered on time and to agreed specifications, fulfils market needs and meets relevant curriculum standards, qualification criteria or other requirements. Provide clear guidance to content providers in the form of verbal and written briefing instructions. Give valuable input to the continuous improvement of content strategy processes - thinking simpler, leaner and faster - to accelerate innovation and time to market. Collaborate with Product Management colleagues to agree on product release cycles and budget requirements. Keep up with competitive trends in content through customer engagement, peer review analysis and market research and networking with academic community. Engage with Legal on contracts, negotiations, audits and other legal issues that are author related. Help ensure compliance and vigilance with Editorial Policies. Act as an ambassador for Pearson products, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally. Be part of a culture that promotes partnership, teamwork and innovation. Key Requirements and Attributes Degree (or equivalent) preferred. Extensive educational content development experience, including digital products. Demonstrable understanding of education and learning from a consumer viewpoint (teacher and learner): ability to translate the winning content strategies into actionable plans and products that drive value for customers and learners. Skills in author relationship management. Effective communicator, providing clear instructions to content providers and other key stakeholders. Ability to gather quantitative and qualitative insight into the needs of different markets and the opportunities within them and to build content strategies and execute on them serving multiple markets at once. Analytical reasoning skills and the ability to distill multiple inputs from markets, customers, thought leaders, operations, business strategies and goals into author guidance and content development. Deep comprehension of the digital world and ability to translate this into content realisation, team mindset and ways of working. Strategic thinking with a focus on operational delivery. Able to prioritise to help deliver product content across a number of projects at the same time, ensuring that the content stays on track to achieve its strategic objectives.
