Manager- Social Impact SAMA Consulting (Part of Strategy & Business Design)

The SI practice engages professionals with core development sector expertise while leveraging from the extensive consulting expertise within the Deloitte network, to bring about social progress. The SI professionals have offered contextually relevant solutions to clients that include Corporates, Governments, Businesses, NGOs, Bilateral Agencies, CSR and Philanthropic Foundations. Deloitte\'s cross-functional teams help clients with strategy, growth and innovation, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, advisory research, program design and management and aligned action.

Job Responsibilities:

The Consultant will be responsible for leading independent work streams within a broader project. Responsibilities may include:

  • Thinking through strategic imperatives and levers and then working with client and teams to deliver meaningful results,
  • Working with client teams to design and implement design imperatives,
  • Developing insights from research and integrating the module\'s findings to ensure achievement of objectives
  • Keeping abreast with the changing regulatory, finance and compliance environment (applicable to the development sector), informing team leaders and clients
  • Research for strategy design, developing a review and measurement frameworks (including tools), structuring MIS systems
  • Conducting and managing periodic reviews for multiple partners within a portfolio:
  • Consultative meetings with key stakeholder to gain an understanding of the accounting environment,
  • Studying regulatory and compliance documents,
  • Analyzing fund utilization statements, budgets, from a financial as well as regulatory perspective,
  • Preparing reports and other periodic client update deliverables
  • Conducting periodic programmatic reviews:
  • Gaining an understanding of the project model, and studying the project activities, including conducting field-visits to remote rural locations,
  • Conducting a stakeholder mapping exercise, and identifying relevant beneficiary groups,
  • Interactions with the project leadership and implementation team, primary and secondary beneficiaries,
  • Validation of the project operations, inputs, outputs and outcomes
  • Assisting team leaders in research and preparation of thought papers, proposal documents, and other business development activities,
  • Being a great team player and building out development solutions to key societal challenges,
  • Conduct appropriate market/ secondary/ primary research and analysis to provide insights to client team,
  • Communicating analysis, recommendations and status updates in both written and oral communication with internal and client leadership
Job Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have a degree from a top-tier CA/ MBA/ Masters/ Development studies/ Humanities/ Social work program, have a 6-9 years of relevant work experience, and the ability to meet each of the following criteria:
  • A strong and demonstrated interest in consulting specially in thinking through large and complex transformation exercises
  • Background or experience (through coursework or employment) in Development sector/ Social Sector
  • Strong research and understanding of measurement frameworks, approaches, methods, tools and techniques
  • A base level of knowledge in development sector policy, strategy, finance, operations, data analysis and research techniques
  • Excellent academic credentials for both undergraduate and/ or post graduate coursework
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Leadership qualities, project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently
  • Willingness to travel to remote tier-3 locations
