CYPRESS Automation Tester
Description: Required candidates with hands on experience in Cypress testing tool to Build Test Automation frameworks using JavaScript and Node primarily. The successful candidate is expected to use Cypress Automation frameworks to test API connectivity across the platform and their clients. APIs environments are either in Rest APIS or Swagger APIS. You will be working as part of an Agile project delivery team, with the latest technologies, on high profile client engagements helping to deliver and maintain complex solutions.
What you'll be working on

• Writing automated end-to-end tests, Backend Testing and Automation
• Performing manual testing of new products and features, collaborating with product management and engineering teams to scope out new features and prepare test plans.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test scenarios and test cases for UI and API applications across different platforms.
• Build and enhanced automated test framework using Cypress and Page Object Model Concepts.
• Develop JS programs to enhance the test and ensure automated scripts works properly by locating elements using xPath and page object model.
• Create Cypress project in command line and Git repository to manage codes
• Perform End-to-End testing considering all interfaces and subsystem for functional and non-functional testing.
• Establish testing as an integral part of the development process within cross-functional teams. Collaborate with the development teams to develop automated checks.
• Proactively suggest improvements in testing tools for better test coverage for automation. Detect and report defects and close follow-up to ensure closure of issues.
• Assess and bring continuous improvements to the overall quality of the product.
• Work closely with the development team to debug any issue.
• Participate in scrum calls with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Work on refactoring the existing framework as per the requirement.
• Automate and document tests from existing test cases/scenarios and new feature specifications
• Work to continuously improve test automation concepts and best practices, automation testing strategies, and test case design specifications.
• Actively involve in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC)

Required Skills and Experience

• Defining and executing test strategies, scripts and ensuring requirements traceability.
• Introducing/suggesting new processes and techniques, accurate recording and monitoring of issues.
• Review test environments and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards.
• Expertise in Automation Testing for Web, API, and Desktop applications of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, test methodologies, requirement comprehension, test planning, test preparation, testbed setup, test execution, test report generation, risk mitigation, effort estimation, and schedule tracking with sign-off accompanying release notes.
• Prior experience in designing automation frameworks from scratch or work on an existing one.
• Hands-on experience in working with Cypress automation tool with good knowledge of API testing and database tools, such as REST Assured, SoapUI, and Postman.
• Thorough understanding of Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retro. Should be responsible to drive sprints or release to closure.
• Experience in working within a CI/CD environment and should have experience in testing front end, website testing.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong verification, validation testing and analytical skills.
• Sound knowledge of test methodologies related to different phases of the software test life cycle.
• Interest in constant research & improvement of the Automation framework.
• Reporting the test automation status and the execution status periodically.
• Hands-on experience in automation testing using Selenium along with Java is desirable.
• Well-versed with Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Should be excellent in writing functional and technical documentation.
• Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills, including with non-technical stakeholders.
• Good communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Automation testing using Cypress.io tool/framework.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, Java, and similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of Angular front-end framework.
• Excellent understanding of Agile working practices and experience using JIRA.
• Some experience of API testing, use of tools such as "Postman" and similar.
