Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Consultant - Technology - Equipment Engineering with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India


The Role



Provide specialist support on the functional areas (refer below) in Projects, Proposals. Hands on working experience with engineering consultancies and EPC companies on Equipment's in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Oil & Gas etc. and offshore facilities for FEED and Detailed design and engineering. Possesses adequate knowledge on selection / application of codes like API, ASME etc. and Client specifications. Possesses the ability to provide clear technical direction and decision making. Prepare, check and approve documents. Perform technical studies & resolves technical issues in projects. Aware of latest technologies and cultivating relationships with technology providers. Keeps up to date with latest developments industry practices, standards and product development and disseminate to group. Organises and conducts technical presentations to the group. Provide guidance to Specialist teams as required. Technical interface with Clients, other Departments, suppliers/vendors and consultants. Support to disciplines on material selection, welding & NDE, PMI, coating and insulation, and noise. Review and approve Weld Map, WPS/PQR, and related vendor documents. Review and approve vendor documents related to NDE procedures, PMI procedures, Painting Procedures, Hydro Test Procedures, PWHT Procedures, Pneumatic testing procedures, Pickling and Passivation.

The key objectives for this role are:



Material Selection and Corrosion (Material Selection Report, Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Control Philosophy and Corrosion Monitoring, Scope of work and philosophy of cathodic protection system) Welding Fabrication & NDE specifications Experience in below areas will be an added advantage. Protective Cover- Painting & Insulation (External Coating/Painting Specification Internal Lining Specification) Hot Service Insulation Specification including Acoustic & Fireproofing, Cold Service Insulation Specification. Noise Control (Noise control activities in the Projects, Plant noise impact assessment, Equipment noise limits specification, Review and assessment of supplier noise data, Recommendations for noise control, Preparation of final noise report and use of in-house Noise algorithms and 'Sound Plan' software.) Cathodic Protection Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV)/ Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) studies for piping systems.

Post-Graduate in Mechanical /Metallurgical Engineering (Essential) welding, Material & Corrosion Certifications ASNT NDE II PT, MT, RT, UT AWS Certified Welding Engineer Membership in Professional Organizations (Desirable)

Experience.



A minimum of 20 years of experience in Engineering Environment with Technology lead role in project execution (Essential). Proven expertise in the area of specialization. (Desirable)
