About the job The Data Steward with Microsoft Purview is responsible for configuring, managing, and administering the Microsoft Purview solution within the organization, as well as ensuring data discovery, classification, and governance capabilities are effectively enabled to enhance data management and regulatory compliance. Main responsibilities . Solution Configuration: Configure and set up the Purview environment, including data sources, scanners, crawlers, and integrations with other services. . Data Catalog Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of the data catalog, ensuring accurate and up-to-date metadata information for registered data assets. . Data Classification and Lineage: Implement data classification policies, labels, and sensitivity tags to enable efficient data discovery and lineage tracking. . Data Discovery and Profiling: Utilize Purview\'s scanning and crawling capabilities to discover and profile data assets across the organization\'s data estate. . Security and Access Control: Set up access controls, permissions, and role-based access to ensure data privacy and security within the Purview solution. . Data Governance Policies: Work with data governance teams to establish and enforce data governance policies, data retention rules, and compliance standards. . Integration with Other Services: Collaborate with other Azure administrators and teams to integrate Purview with other Azure services and tools, maximizing data governance capabilities. . Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitor the Purview solution\'s performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configuration for efficient data discovery and management. . User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on how to use Purview effectively for data discovery, classification, and governance tasks. . Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Purview solution complies with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards. Classified by Alfa Laval as: Business . Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Purview and recommend improvements to enhance data governance capabilities. Who you are. The Data Steward with Purview is someone who has a bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Candidates to this position should have proven experience in administering Microsoft Purview or similar data catalog and governance solutions, and a clear understanding of the various aspects of Data Governance and Data Management. You should have hands-on experience with Data Stewardship and knowledge of Microsoft Purview and best practices. What is needed in this role: . Knowledge of data management, data governance, and data classification best practices. . Experience of at least two years with Data Quality. . Experience of at least 4 years as a Data Steward. . Knowledge of Microsoft Purview. . Knowledge of Data Bricks Unity Catalog. . Strong understanding of data privacy and security principles. . Familiarity with Azure services and cloud technologies. . Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. . Strong communication and collaboration ability.
