As part of this endeavor, PATH has been supporting Govt. of Uttar Pradesh with minimizing mortality/morbidity from AES (Acute Encephalitic Syndrome)/JE (Japanese Encephalitis) and would require a senior advisor in consultant role to support the ongoing AES/JE project transition to Govt. health system in the state of UP.

The incumbent will be a senior medical and public health professional with wide experience in the field of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) and Japanese encephalitis (JE) control. The position will be based out of Delhi, under the communicable diseases vertical to provide technical and programmatic assistance to the Infectious diseases cluster, primarily for sustaining the gains achieved and further strengthening the AES control activities, to be undertaken by the state health system at multi levels in Uttar Pradesh.
The incumbent will report to the director infectious diseases and will support the projects in stakeholder advocacy with government officers and development partners and will also provide technical assistance in implementing the project activities in Uttar Pradesh, and other states and when required will travel to the project intervention districts as per need.
The specific scope of work would include the following activities:
Provide technical assistance at national level for planning, training and monitoring, in close coordination with state-lead UP and director infectious diseases.
Liaise with key stakeholders for advocacy with senior government health officials and development partners and represent PATH in high level forums and meetings.
Provide inputs to ensure that project goals are met in an efficient manner.
Provide technical assistance in development of proposals, resource material and reports in other VBD/M-NTD projects, within the communicable diseases cluster.
Support in monitoring the progress of the impact assessment of the projects.
Could be involved in conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis as required in other projects being undertaken by the infectious diseases vertical.
Will conduct any other tasks assigned as per need in the infectious diseases cluster.
Will prepare and submit a monthly activity report on project activities supported.
