Review and accurately interpret medical images from various modalities, including
X-rays, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Nuclear Medicine.
Correlate imaging findings with patient medical history, lab results, and other clinical data to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis.
Generate timely, clear, and detailed written reports of findings and diagnoses for referring physicians.
Consult and communicate effectively with referring physicians (primary care, specialists, surgeons) to discuss appropriate imaging exams, clarify results, and recommend further evaluation or treatment.
Communicate sensitive or critical results immediately and directly to the clinical team.
Perform or direct image-guided diagnostic procedures (e.g., biopsies, fluid drainages) and minimally invasive therapeutic procedures (Interventional Radiology).
Oversee or administer contrast agents (oral, IV) to enhance diagnostic image quality, ensuring patient safety protocols are followed.
Ensure optimal performance of imaging equipment and collaborate with medical physicists and technologists to maintain image quality.
Uphold the highest standards of radiation safety and protection for patients and staff.
Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities.
