Job Description

Diagnose and treat respiratory disorders such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, TB, ILD, and lung infections. Take detailed medical history and perform physical examinations related to lung health. Interpret diagnostic tests (X-ray, CT, HRCT, PFT, spirometry, ABG, sleep studies). Perform procedures like bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, pleural fluid tapping, and lung biopsy (where applicable). Manage acute respiratory emergencies such as asthma attacks, pneumothorax, and respiratory failure. Provide ventilator management and oversee ICU respiratory care. Prescribe medications, inhalers, nebulization therapy, and oxygen therapy. Educate patients on inhaler techniques, breathing exercises, lifestyle modifications, and smoking cessation. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans when needed. Coordinate with physicians, intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and technicians. Maintain accurate medical records, case sheets, and follow hospital protocols. Ensure infection control and patient safety as per hospital/NABH guidelines. Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement programs. Stay updated with advancements in pulmonology and attend CMEs/conferences.
