The Consultant Psychologist is responsible for delivering high-quality psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions to clients across various age groups. The role includes maintaining clinical standards, ensuring client safety, supporting case formulations, and contributing to the overall therapeutic ecosystem of the organisation.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services
Provide evidence-based psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, ACT, SFBT, trauma-focused therapy, etc.).
Conduct detailed psychological assessments, case history, mental status examination (MSE), and risk evaluation.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor therapeutic progress.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation following ethical and organisational standards.
Handle a diverse caseload including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, child & adolescent concerns, behavioral issues, and personality-related difficulties.
Client Management & Communication
Build strong therapeutic rapport and ensure client comfort, confidentiality, and safety.
Communicate treatment goals and progress to clients and families when relevant.
Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during emergencies.
Coordinate with psychiatrists, pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other allied professionals for integrated care.
Professional Development
Participate in case conferences, supervision meetings, and inter-departmental discussions.
Attend training, workshops, and annual upskilling sessions to stay updated with new therapeutic approaches.
Contribute to internal research, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Administrative & Organisational Responsibilities
Maintain session schedules, daily logs, and consultation records.
Support awareness programs, school visits, corporate wellness sessions, and community mental-health events.
Adhere to clinic policies, confidentiality guidelines, and ethical codes of conduct (APA/RCI guidelines).
Assist in internship training by guiding psychology students when required.
3. Required QualificationsAcademic Requirements
Master's degree in Clinical Psychology / Counseling Psychology / Applied Psychology (UGC-recognized).
M.Phil in Clinical Psychology (RCI-registered) preferred for advanced clinical roles.
Additional certifications in CBT, DBT, trauma therapy, family therapy, or child psychology are desirable.
Experience
1-5 years of clinical experience in therapy, counseling, or rehabilitation settings (freshers with strong skills may also apply).
Experience handling child, adolescent, or adult mental-health cases is an added advantage.
