1. JOB PURPOSEHans Child Development Centre provides multidisciplinary services to children with special
needs, including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Speech & Language Impairment, Locomotor
Disabilities, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and other developmental disabilities.
The Head of Department (HOD) - Physiotherapy will lead and oversee the physiotherapy
services, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children with physical,
neuromotor, and developmental challenges. This role involves supervising the physiotherapy
team, conducting complex assessments, designing advanced intervention plans, and
collaborating with other departments to promote functional independence and overall
development of children. The HOD will also be responsible for professional development of
the team and ensuring service excellence in alignment with the Centre's vision.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead the Physiotherapy Department, ensuring delivery of quality services in line with
best practices.
Conduct screening and assessments of sensory, motor, and neuromotor
development.
Design and oversee individualized physiotherapy intervention plans.
Provide specialized therapy sessions to improve muscle strength, flexibility, posture,
gait, and mobility.
Supervise and mentor physiotherapy staff, offering guidance & training on complex
cases.
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (special educators, occupational
therapists, speech therapists, psychologists) to ensure integrated and holistic care.
Participate in case conferences and contribute to individualized education/therapy
plans.
Educate and train parents/caregivers on home-based therapy techniques and
exercises.
Provide ongoing guidance to families to support therapy continuity at home.
3. Other Indicative RequirementsEducational Qualifications ? Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant
Experience Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications
etc.)
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at
least 2 years in pediatric physiotherapy and team
supervision.
Skills & Competencies:

development and rehabilitation techniques.
? Strong leadership, team management, and
mentoring skills.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
to work with children, families, and staff.
