Job Description

Responsibilities:

Verify and ensure the workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround time of results Verification of quality control, validation (new lot of reagents), and other quality activities to verify performance of test Verify records of test results and archives of data Ensures IPC procedure are followed in work environment Verify and evaluate the proficiency testing (PT/ILQC/EQA) and approve the records Verifies the department standard operating procedures for Microbiology. Document knowledge by reviewing and signing SOPs annually Follow laboratory policies and procedures such as attendance and time reporting policies Verifies and follow up of mail communication of abnormal results and documentation to Public health departments or other regulatory bodies. Providing advisory service on tests whenever needed to patients/customers/Consultants. Participate in MRM and internal audits of the laboratory. Providing inputs to management for continual improvement Ensure the technicians to follow proper BMW management as per protocol. Edit results when needed if retesting is carried out Evaluate employees for their competency Provide guidance and expertise in verification and implantation of new test/kits/instrument By testing the virulence and strength of specific microbes, they aim to identify new methods to diagnose and treat infections. Providing advisory service on tests whenever needed to customers/Consultants. Serves as technical resource by participating in staff training; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations for continual development Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Writing up research findings and producing reports. Keeping up with new research and attending national and international conferences and other events. Liaising with colleagues from non-scientific departments. Providing information and advice to colleagues and external bodies. Providing information and advice to medical staff. Checking sensitivity to Antibiotic and chemotherapeutic agents Taking preventive measures to avoid the spread of infections with in laboratory Working on the development of new and existing techniques and organisms Participate in research and development Take part in all quality improvement activities of the lab Reviewing all panic values Updating & implementation of CLSI and other national & international guidelines. Interpretation and Authorization of reports in Microbiology, Serology & Molecular Biology Assist in recruiting pathologists for approved hires, in conjunction with the CEO and HRM of the division
