The Consultant - MD (Medicine) is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and follow-up. The consultant will also contribute to clinical decision-making, patient management, and hospital protocols while maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care
:
Conduct thorough patient examinations, make accurate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans.
Attend to inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases as per hospital protocols.
Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including infectious and non-infectious diseases.
Provide medical consultation to other departments when required.
Supervise junior doctors, duty doctors, and nursing staff in clinical management.
2. Patient Management
:
Ensure proper documentation of patient history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Communicate effectively with patients and their attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
Ensure continuity of care and follow-up for discharged patients.
3. Administrative & Operational Duties
:
Participate in clinical rounds, departmental meetings, and hospital case discussions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and biomedical waste management protocols.
Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and standard treatment protocols.
Participate in the duty roster, including emergency and on-call duties as assigned.
4. Academic & Professional Development
:
Stay updated with the latest medical advancements, technologies, and treatment protocols.
Participate in CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs, workshops, and conferences.
Support training and mentoring of residents, duty doctors, and nursing staff.
5. Ethics & Conduct
:
Uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Ensure all interactions with patients and colleagues are conducted with compassion and respect.
Qualification & Experience
:
Qualification: MD (Medicine) or equivalent recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI/NMC).
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of post-MD clinical experience in a reputed hospital.
Registration: Valid registration with MCI/NMC or State Medical Council.
