Inviting applications for the role of Consultant, IT Security Specialist
Responsibilities
Security Implementation: Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, encryption, and other security technologies.
Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor IT systems for security threats and vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents.
Security Policies and Procedures: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a secure IT environment.
Security Audits: Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
User Training: Provide security awareness training to employees to promote a culture of security and compliance.
Incident Response: Respond to and manage security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Security Documentation: Maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, incident reports, and security controls.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data protection laws, and internal security standards.
Security Patch Management: Manage the application of security patches and updates to systems and software.
Vendor Security: Evaluate and ensure the security of third-party vendors and service providers.
Respond to and, where appropriate, resolve or escalate reported security incidents including incidents or events reported by MDR provider
Key Security Tools - Proofpoint/Microsoft Defender/Cisco/Manage Engine/SentinelOne
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations and principles.
Experience with security monitoring and incident response.
Familiarity with security tools and technologies.
Strong understanding of network and system security.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), are preferred.
Proven experience in IT security and cybersecurity roles.
Strong knowledge of security technologies, best practices, and emerging threats.
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
